Votives Holders with Apple/Peach Votives Yum!

There is nothing like the scent of a wonderful candle. Especially those that evoke wonderful memories of days gone by. I decorated these little votive holders and added the yummy scented apple peach votives to them for my Etsy Shop. I popped them up this evening and they are adorable.

I think they make perfect gifts for neighbors, bus drivers, postmen and women, anyone who enjoys a smile and a friendly reminder that they are special, needed, and appreciated.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Yes, I said it! I said it right out loud...I said Merry Christmas! When I was little we never thought about whether to say it or not, we just wished everyone a Merry Christmas. It was a time when we remembered the blessings of Christ's love for us. The need for a Savior and the provision of One by our Lord. We celebrated because He LIVED for us!

It wasn't that we were trying to offend anyone! We weren't trying to make someone elses faith diminish. We were just rejoicing in our Gift from above. If someone had a different holiday they celebrated, they didn't get upset; they just said Merry Christmas, then would follow up with we celebrate Hanukkah or something and we'd discuss what they believed and how the rejoiced.

What happened? What in the world happened?! Now, it's an offense to say Merry Christmas...Lord Jesus help us all!

Merry Christmas everyone! May the love and joy of Jesus fill your lives, hearts, and season!

The Gift of Color

I thought I would share some of my favorite Etsy picks in shades of Aqua. One of the greatest gifts that we receive from our Lord is the gift of color. Think of it...it's only for our enjoyment that color has been created. We are "Wowed" by the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets...we are struck with awe at the trees during the fall and we can't help but gape with wonder at the beauty of creation.

Thank you Lord for giving us the colors to make our eyes see with new life and dream with new dreams.

Patriotism

What is the meaning of patriotism according to the dictionary? It's the "love for or the devotion to ones country".

So what has happened to our patriotism? When did it fall away, get lost...all but disappear? I believe it happens just as it happens with our Christian faith. It's small steps at first. We hurry off to work or school before we say a prayer; we cease to open God's Word on a daily basis; the world infiltrates our lives more that God is allowed in.

So it is with patriotism...first we remove it from home and schools. We forget to share what it costs to be free. We forget that men and women have died for this flag, this country, and this way of life.

Can you join me in bringing, both, a revival to our Christian walk, as well as, a revival to our patriotism back? Starting with us, in our homes, communities, and lives. Let's begin anew to read God's precious Word, to share it with our children and grandchildren...let's begin anew to revive the patriotism we seem to have lost over the generations that have past.

Thought I Would Add a Post...

Hi everyone...this has been a very stagnate blog for a very long time.

I had tried, unsuccessfully, to grow a business using the social marketing media. There are those that have been successful, but as I began to think about it...I realized that if only 3% of the people who "join" me in my business venture are successful...how could I, in good faith, invite them to invest their money with me?

I mean, think about it...what venture would you invest in if you knew that there was a 97% failure rate!!?

As I came to the realization that, for me, it was morally and ethically, wrong to try and convince, encourage, or otherwise cajole someone into a business I knew was most likely destined to failure...I withdrew...

I'll keep this blog running, but now under the guys of sharing life, love, faith, and healthy eating with you...Sound like a deal? Great...then onward and upward!

I will most likely start a little Etsy Shop or something...but with regards to network marketing...it's over...

A hundred years ago diabetes affected less than 0.01% of the U.S. population. Today, nearly 27% percent of the population has diabetes or pre-diabetes. And new cases have increased 90% in the last 10 years!
In 1930 about 3,000 people in the U.S. died of heart disease. By 2005 heart attack and stroke killed 795,670 people. While our population grew 144%, the number of deaths due to heart disease rose 26,422%
A hundred years ago, cancer was responsible for only 3% of all deaths. Today, cancer is responsible for more than 20% of deaths in the U.S.

Building Bones Takes More Than Calcium

That's right...we've all heard about bone loss, but did you realize that it's possible to "build" our bone strength? Please read on.

More than just an accumulation of calcium, bone is living collagen tissue that collects minerals of all kinds; not just calcium but magnesium, phosphorous. Other than nerve cells, every other cell in your body has a life cycle. What does the bone cell life cycle look like? An osteoblast, or OB cell, inside the bone lays down a new collagen matrix that builds new bone cells. The OB's partners, the osteoclast cells (OCs), work in conjunction with the OBs and clean up all the dead, diseased, injured or damaged bone cells. (TriVita-Your Business @ Home Vol 2 Issue 4)

Here's the kicker...before the age of 30 we have more bone-building (osteoblast cells/OBs) than the bone-removing (osteoclast cells/OCs) take away. By 40 it's no longer a toss up...the bone-builders are being "beaten" up by the bone takers and that rate continues to increase. Soon, the range is about 1000 cells made to 5000 taken away...you can see why we might have the problems we have with osteoporosis and bone breakage as we get older.

But here's the good news!

That seems like a question with an obvious answer doesn't it? The obvious answer is "VERY!"

Yet, we barely give thought to our health until we begin to show the signs of wear and tear or illness.

I was thinking about it the other day...we seem to take for granted the good health that we have. We get up in the morning, have the coffee, juice, breakfast and head out for a busy day. Until one morning we wake up and we don't feel good. Can't really eat, no energy, and just "under the weather".

That's when we begin to notice how much we have to do and that we don't have time to be sick.

Am I right?
